Overview
We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t run advertising or third-party tracking on this site. We collect what you send us so we can reply, do the work, and keep you posted on it.
This policy covers https://arkophoto.com/ and its client and staff areas (the “Site”), run by ARKO PHOTO MEDIA COMPANY, INC (“ARKO”, “we”, “us”). Questions go to studio@arkophoto.com.
What we collect
What you send through forms. When you start a project, request a quote, apply to shoot for us or refer someone, we keep what you type: usually your name, company, email, phone, location, website or portfolio link, and your message. Files you attach (drawings, photos, decks) are stored with the request.
Accounts. Clients and staff who sign in have an account with their name, email and role. Sign-in uses passkeys: your device keeps the private key, and we store only the public key and a label for the device. We also keep a record of active sessions (when each expires and the browser it came from) so we can keep accounts secure.
Your project and its history. For the work we do with you, the Site keeps the request, its status, notes, messages, files and the people involved, so you and our team can follow it in one place.
Contacts and newsletters. If you’re a client or have asked to hear from us, your name, email and company may be on our contact list. Our newsletters record when an email is opened and which links are clicked, so we know what was useful. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
Technical data. Like any website, our host processes your IP address, browser and the pages you request in order to serve the Site and keep it secure. We use IP addresses to limit repeated form, upload and sign-in attempts; those records are deleted within a day or two.
Cookies and local storage
We set only the cookies the Site needs to work: a session cookie when you’re signed in (up to 30 days) and a short-lived cookie during passkey sign-in. Your browser also remembers whether it has used a passkey here, so the sign-in page can show the right button. We don’t use advertising, analytics or social-media cookies.
How we use it
- To reply to you, scope and quote work, and deliver projects.
- To run your account and client portal and keep them secure.
- To send project updates and, if you’ve opted in or are a client, occasional newsletters.
- To prevent abuse of the Site, and to meet legal or tax obligations.
We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context advertising.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the Site, its database and stored files, and sends our email from the Site.
- Google Workspace handles our email at arkophoto.com, so anything you email us is stored there.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business.
How long we keep it
We keep project and client records for as long as we work together and for a reasonable time afterward for our records, taxes and any disputes. Inquiries that don’t become projects, and contacts who unsubscribe, can be deleted on request. Expired sessions and sign-in links are cleaned up automatically.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from newsletters with the link in any of them.
- See, correct or delete your information by emailing studio@arkophoto.com.
- Update your name or remove a passkey from your account page. Removing a passkey also signs that device out.
If you live in a state or country that gives you further rights over your data (such as California, or the EU/UK), email us and we’ll honor them as the law requires. We won’t treat you differently for asking.
Security
Sign-in uses passkeys rather than passwords, session tokens are stored hashed, the Site is served only over HTTPS, and project files are private to the client and our team. No system is perfectly secure, so if you think something is wrong, tell us right away.
Children
The Site is for businesses and isn’t directed to children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13; if we learn we have, we’ll delete it.
Where data is stored
ARKO is based in the United States. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant and you have an account, we’ll let you know by email.
